Use the Wallet pass editor to change the colors, images, and fields on the Apple Wallet passes issued for your KORONA Event tickets.
Start with a safe copy
You need access to edit Wallet pass designs. Have your branding images and a representative ticket ready for the preview.
- Open Comms > Wallet passes in the backoffice.
- Find the design marked Default. New Wallet passes use this design.
- Select Duplicate from its row menu and confirm. The copy opens in the editor. If you already opened the default design, select Duplicate to try changes instead.
- In Pass, enter a Name for the copy. Keep Use for new passes off while preparing it.
Duplicating copies the saved design. If you have unsaved changes, save them before duplicating if you want them in the copy. Editing and previewing a draft do not publish it; Save changes saves the design. Saving changes to the current default affects newly issued passes, so use a copy to prepare changes safely.
Choose the appearance
In Pass, choose a Layout:
| Layout | Appearance |
|---|---|
| Banner | A strip image behind the main field. Primary text over the image is always white; other text uses your configured colors. |
| Background image | A blurred image behind the pass. iPhone shows the text in white. |
| Plain | Your background color, with the ticket holder's photo when the ticket has one. |
Set Text color, Label color, and Background color where available. With Background image, the text color is fixed to white. Primary text over a Banner image is also always white; other text can use your configured colors. Choose Plain for dark primary text.
Under Images, upload Logo, Icon, Strip image, or Background as needed. Slots unused by the selected layout are marked accordingly. Logo text appears beside the logo. Description titles the pass details and is read aloud by VoiceOver.
Arrange and edit fields
- In Structure, select an existing field or use Add field to the desired area: Header, Primary, Secondary, Auxiliary, or Back of pass.
- In Field, edit Label and Value. Use the editor's suggestions to insert available ticket placeholders or reusable text blocks.
- Drag fields in Structure to reorder them or move them between areas. You can also change a field's Area in Field.
- Use Show on pass to hide a field while retaining its settings. Set Show only if to a placeholder when the field should be omitted if that placeholder is empty; Always removes the condition.
- Use Remove field to delete a field from the draft.
The front has limited space: up to three header fields, one primary field, four secondary fields, and four auxiliary fields. Long content can still be shortened or omitted. Move supporting information to Back of pass when it does not fit; watch for Not shown on iPhone and the preview warnings.
Choose the content language and value type
Select Content language in the top bar to edit Label, Value, Logo text, and Description for that language. Empty translations fall back to your account's main language. This changes pass content, not the language of the backoffice controls.
In Value type, choose:
- Text for written content and placeholders.
- Date for Event start or Event end, with Date style and Time style. You can use relative wording such as Today or Tomorrow, or select Show the event's local time in every time zone when the event time must stay fixed.
- Number for a numeric value, with Number style and an optional Currency code, such as EUR. Leave the currency code empty for a plain number.
Dates and numbers are formatted by Wallet using the customer's phone language and time zone, subject to the date options you select. The preview cannot reproduce every customer's device settings.
Preview and test the draft
- Choose a Sample ticket in the top bar to preview representative ticket content.
- In Preview, switch Device and compare Front with Pass details.
- Review Warnings for missing fields, shortened text, contrast, image quality, or device limits. Select a field warning to open that field, then shorten its content, move it, or adjust its appearance as needed.
- Select Try on iPhone, then scan the QR code with your iPhone camera to add the current draft to Wallet. When working on the iPhone, use Open on this device.
The browser preview is an approximation. Apple Watch is not drawn; its limits appear in Warnings. No warnings for one sample does not guarantee that every ticket's content fits. Use the iPhone test for the final appearance. If the preview fails, use Try again; if a test link expires or has already been used, create a new link.
Save and use the design
- Select Save changes to keep the prepared copy. Undo, Redo, and Discard changes help you adjust or revert unsaved work.
- When the design is ready for newly issued Wallet passes, enable Use for new passes in Pass.
- Select Save changes and confirm Use for new passes. Every newly issued Wallet pass uses this design.
The current default cannot be switched off on its own. To replace it, make another saved design the default. Existing installed passes are not automatically replaced by saving or changing the default design.
