Configure tax labels and shopping summaries

Tax terminology uses the country in your account contact details. Use the billing settings to check how your taxes are labeled and to control zero-rate rows in the online shop.
Before you start
KORONA.studio owns product sectors, tax rates, effective dates, economic zones and whether a tax is included in the price or added to it. Confirm the applicable configuration with the person responsible for your taxes. A membership, nonprofit customer or zero-rate record does not by itself establish an exemption. Merchandise and memberships can use different sectors.
Web pricing uses the economic zone configured for the KORONA Event account. KORONA POS can also use organizational-unit and customer economic-zone overrides. These overrides are not automatically selected from a shopper's language, currency or delivery address. Contact support before offering sales that depend on a different tax context, including cross-border shipping.
Choose the presentation
- Open Admin > Account > Billing Information.
- Under Tax labels, check the country named in the description. Tax terms and the zero-row Country default use the country saved under Contact Details.
- Choose whether to Use configured tax names in shop, emails and invoices. Customers will see lists the label for each tax configured in your account's economic zone and updates when you switch this setting.
- Choose Zero-rate tax rows in cart and checkout.
- Save your changes.
If Customers will see is missing, your account has no economic zone or no synchronized taxes for it yet.
| Setting | Effect |
|---|---|
| Country default | Hides zero-rate rows for accounts with USA as their country and shows them for other countries. The option shows which applies to you. |
| Show | Shows zero-rate rows in cart and checkout. |
| Hide | Hides a row only when its rate and amount are both zero. A nonzero rate rounded to a zero amount remains visible. |
| Use configured tax names | Uses translated names with the imported KORONA name as fallback, followed by the rate unless the name already states it, for example State tax (6.25%). |
The visibility preference does not change taxable bases, rates, tax amounts, payable totals or stored tax records. It does not control invoices, receipts or credit notes. Keep applicable fiscal disclosures in the document configuration; a label saying 0% does not replace an exemption indication.
Country terminology
English output uses VAT for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands, and sales tax for the USA. German output distinguishes German MwSt., Austrian USt. and Swiss MWST. Swiss French and Italian tax labels use TVA and IVA; Dutch tax labels use btw. Tax-label support does not add a complete application translation: available shop languages remain those offered by your shop configuration.
Changing the display language changes labels and how rates are written, for example 8.1% in English and 8,1 % in German, not the configured tax rate. Taxes with the same rate remain separate components.
Reprints and fees
New invoice tax records capture the account country and naming settings. Later changes to the account country, tax names or presentation preferences do not rename these captured records on reprint. Older invoice records retain their existing rendering behavior; changing these preferences is not a retrospective document correction.
Administrative, payment and booking fees remain separate from taxes. These presentation settings do not determine whether a fee is taxable or configure its calculation base.
Resolve a configuration problem
If a product uses the wrong tax, review its KORONA.studio sector and the taxes for the configured economic zone. Changing a label or hiding a zero row does not correct the product's tax configuration. Allow the normal synchronization to complete after changing KORONA master data.
