Use EU goods guarantees when your online shop sells goods to EU consumers. The official legal guarantee notice applies to goods even if the manufacturer offers no additional guarantee. Admission tickets alone do not qualify as goods.
The same backoffice settings apply to both the classic shop and the new shop. Configure each shop once in the current backoffice.
Choose the shop applicability
- Open the shop in the backoffice and select Checkout.
- Find EU goods guarantees.
- Set Shop applicability to Enabled for EU goods sales for an applicable shop. Select Not applicable only after assessing what the shop sells and the markets it serves. A US-only shop may not need this information; English language or US dollars alone do not establish an exemption.
- Save the settings.
Not configured means the shop has not been assessed. It hides the notice and is not a compliance-ready setting. A platform-disabled warning means the saved settings are waiting for platform activation.
Disabling the feature hides the notice and GARAN information for new shop visits. Existing order confirmation documents retain the information saved with those orders.
Prepare manufacturer guarantees
GARAN identifies a manufacturer's free durability guarantee that covers the entire good for more than two years. An ordinary warranty text or a paid extension does not establish eligibility.
- Open the product in the backoffice and select the EU goods guarantees tab.
- Enable Display EU GARAN label only if the manufacturer's guarantee meets these conditions.
- Enter the Brand / trademark, Manufacturer model identifier and Guarantee duration (years). Use the manufacturer's model identifier, which may differ from your article number. Duration must be more than two and less than 100 years, in half-year steps, such as
3or3.5. You can enter a decimal point or comma (3.5or3,5); the field displays the value in your display language. - Enter Guarantee terms in the account’s standard language and use the language tabs alongside it to edit translations, or leave a language blank to use the imported KORONA warranty text for that language. Include the full guarantee statement, with the guarantor and the procedure for making a claim.
- Save. You can save an incomplete draft and finish it later. Event generates the official colour GARAN label from the brand, model and duration. These fields and your terms overrides remain in Event when KORONA synchronizes.
Saved guarantee information shows the saved result once per selected language. Shops where incomplete information blocks purchases are listed separately. Missing fields have readable names. Ready means the required information and generated label are present; you remain responsible for the accuracy of the manufacturer’s guarantee statement.
No eligible manufacturer guarantee means the product does not need a GARAN label. Ordinary goods remain sellable with the legal guarantee notice.
Choose whether incomplete information blocks purchases
In the shop’s Checkout settings, Prevent purchases when GARAN information is incomplete is off by default. While you prepare the catalog, Incomplete — warning only allows purchases and omits the incomplete guarantee label. The statutory notice still appears. Warning-only mode does not remove the merchant’s information obligations.
Enable this setting after preparing the product information and translations for your shop. Incomplete — purchases blocked then prevents checkout for a basket containing that declared guarantee in the selected language. Complete the fields shown in the product preview to make it ready. The setting does not require every goods product to have an additional manufacturer guarantee.
Incomplete declarations for enabled shops also appear as product configuration warnings, with a link to the product’s EU goods guarantees tab. When you complete the information for all three supported shop languages, or remove the declaration, the warning clears.
Languages
KORONA languages are matched automatically by their imported ISO codes. Texts without a language use your account's standard language. No additional language settings are needed for guarantee information.
This does not translate the text. Provide guarantee terms in KORONA or as an Event override for each language your shop uses. Regional texts remain distinct: an Austrian German text is not automatically used as a generic German statement. Missing or conflicting guarantee translations remain incomplete.
What customers receive
In enabled shops, shoppers see Your legal guarantee rights directly before placing an order when their cart contains goods. The notice is collapsed by default; opening it shows the official artwork, its full text equivalent, and links to view the artwork at full size or read more on Your Europe. The notice appears once on the final checkout page, including order completion and payment forms, rather than on every page. Ticket-only carts do not show it. Products with complete eligible guarantees show their generated GARAN label and guarantee terms on the product page, in the cart and next to the final order button. Each eligible product has a compact GARAN badge showing its guarantee duration. Click or tap Guarantee label and terms to expand the complete label and statement; keyboard users can press Enter or Space. Repeated quantities of the same product share one label in the checkout review. Selected goods in bundles are included in the cart and checkout review.
If the guarantee information changes during checkout, customers must review the updated information before submitting again. Goods baskets in enabled shops use standard checkout so this review remains available; express checkout remains available for other eligible baskets.
Order confirmation emails include a copy of the legal guarantee notice and the saved GARAN terms and files where applicable. Resending those attachments uses the saved order information rather than the current product text. Keep order confirmation email delivery configured.
For the legal scope and official artwork, see the European Commission guidance.
For a custom checkout using the Booking API, your integration must display the goods review and submit its current fingerprint, including in warning-only mode. See Complete checkout with the Booking API for the integration steps.
