Product glossary
Use this glossary to understand the customer-facing terms used across the back office, online shop, point of sale (POS), and resource workflows.
Each definition below is maintained as an individual glossary term. This keeps terminology reusable in inline help and lets other articles link directly to one definition without copying it.
Admission
An offer type for general admission without a fixed start time, or for simple timed entry when a time pattern supplies entry slots.
- Related terms
- Event, Event template, Offer, Ticket, Time pattern
When it matters: Use an event template instead when each occurrence needs event-level scheduling or required resources.
Attendee
A person connected to an event or admission ticket. Attendee data supports check-in, attendance lists, exports, and ticket details.
Back office
The administrative area where staff create offers, manage orders, configure prices, assign resources, and review operational data.
- UI label
- Back-office
- Also used
- admin area
- Related terms
- Sales channel, Order
When it matters: Use “back office” in normal prose and the exact label shown by the interface when giving navigation instructions.
Booking
The reservation of one or more offers for a customer. In KORONA Event it is represented by an order and its service items, attendees, payment state, and documents.
Capacity
The number of places available for an offer, which can be limited by the offer, sales channel setup, or required resources.
- Related terms
- Sales channel, Required resources
Checkout policy
A setting that controls the result and payment handling when a customer submits checkout for an offer.
- UI label

When it matters: Set an offer-level policy only when it should behave differently from the shop default.

An event template assigned to a parent. It keeps its own schedule, prices, capacity, and resources but is not shown as a separate public offer.
- UI label
- Child event templates
- Related terms
- Event template, Parent event template
When it matters: Use children to keep operational variants separate while customers book through the parent offer.
Customer
The person or organization buying through the online shop, POS, or back office.
Discount code
A customer-entered code that activates an eligible promotion. It changes pricing but is not proof of identity or access permission.
- Related terms

Offer
Something customers can buy or reserve. An offer can be an event, event template, admission, product, or voucher.
- Related terms

When it matters: Use the specific offer type when its behavior differs; use “offer” for instructions shared by several types.

The customer-facing sales channel where customers browse offers, select tickets, enter checkout details, and complete payment or confirmation.
- Related terms
- Sales channel, Offer, Checkout policy
Order
The main sales record containing the customer, selected offers, quantities, prices, payment state, invoices, tickets, and documents.
Order channel
A classification stored on an order to identify how it entered KORONA Event and support routing, reporting, and defaults such as point of sale or payment method.
- UI label
- Order channels
- Related terms
- Order, Sales channel, Point of sale (POS)
When it matters: An order channel does not control whether an offer is sellable; that is controlled by the offer's sales-channel rules.
Parent event template
An event template that acts as one customer-facing offer for its own availability and the availability of its child event templates.
- UI label
- Parent event template
- Related terms
- Event template, Child event template
When it matters: Use a parent when equivalent experiences should share one public presentation but need separate operational setup.
Point of sale (POS)
A configured selling endpoint or order origin. It can represent a till or kiosk, the online shop, or a back-office or telephone ordering flow.
- UI label
- POS
- Also used

- UI label
- Prices
- Related terms
- Price category, Sales channel
Price category
The customer-facing label for a price, such as adult, child, reduced, or group.
- Related terms
- Price
When it matters: Keep price category names clear because they can appear in the online shop, POS, tickets, and reports.
Product
A sellable item such as merchandise, an add-on, or another extra. Products can also be attached to event prices.
- Related terms
- Offer, Price, Sub-product
Production type
A KORONA configuration assigned to a product that controls which production action runs and when it runs.
- UI label
- Production types
- Related terms
- Product, Ticket, Point of sale (POS), Back office
When it matters: In KORONA, the method defines the production action and the trigger defines its timing. KORONA Event interprets a narrower set of ticket-method overrides and does not use trigger overrides to schedule local fulfillment.
Promotion
A pricing campaign that grants a discount or other benefit when its KORONA.studio Couponing rules are satisfied.
- Related terms
- Discount code, External coupon limit, Voucher
When it matters: Create new promotions in KORONA.studio; the local KORONA Event Promotions page is deprecated.
Published

- Related terms
- Hidden from shop, Sales channel, Offer
When it matters: Publishing does not replace sales channel, price, capacity, or checkout setup.
Refund
The financial return of money through the payment method or provider. A refund is separate from canceling an order or invalidating a ticket.
Required resources
The event area where staff define which resources are needed, how many are needed, and when they are reserved.
- UI label
- Required resources
- Related terms
- Resource, Role / Function, Capacity
Resource
Something needed to run an event, such as staff, guides, rooms, equipment, vehicles, or other operational capacity.
- Related terms

Role / Function
The type of resource needed for an event, such as a guide, driver, room, or piece of equipment.
- UI label
- Role / Function
- Related terms

Sales channel
An offer rule that selects one or more points of sale and controls where, when, and with what channel-specific limit the offer can be sold.
- Related terms
- Offer, Online shop, Point of sale (POS), Order channel
When it matters: It is distinct from the order channel recorded on the resulting order. New offers cover all current points of sale with no additional channel-specific limit by default.
Sales period
A rule that controls when ticket sales open and close relative to an event start, or keeps sales open until the event or admission ends. It can also limit the capacity available during that period.
- Related terms
- Event, Capacity, Sales channel
Sub-product
A product included in or selected with a parent product, such as a bundled ticket, meal, rental item, or separately priced add-on.
- UI label
- Sub-Products
When it matters: Sub-products can independently consume capacity and create attendee records. Tag-based selectors override fixed sub-products and require the current shop.
Ticket
The customer-facing document or digital record used for entry, check-in, or proof of booking.
- Related terms
- Attendee, Order, Ticket grouping
Ticket grouping
A setting that controls how selected attendances are combined into customer-facing tickets.
- UI label
- Ticket grouping
When it matters: Choose the option that matches how staff check customers in and how customers expect to receive their tickets.
Time pattern
A reusable schedule of recurrence rules, added start times, and excluded start times that generates availability for event templates and admissions.
- UI label
- Time patterns
- Related terms
- Event template, Admission, Time pattern period
When it matters: A change affects every offer assigned to the pattern, so copy it when one offer needs an independent schedule.
Time pattern period
A named group of schedule rules that can replace, add to, or subtract from base time patterns while it is active for a date range.
- UI label
- Periods
- Related terms
- Time pattern, Event template, Admission
When it matters: Use periods to switch high-season, low-season, holiday, or other grouped schedules on from the Calendar. Subtract removes only exact start times generated by both the base and period rules; an active date range alone does not close a day.
Voucher
A sellable value or ticket product that a customer can redeem later.
Withdrawal
The statutory German consumer-withdrawal workflow implemented in KORONA Event. It is distinct from an ordinary operational cancellation or rebooking.
When it matters: Do not assume this legal workflow applies outside Germany; follow approved legal advice for each market.
