Recommend related offers during online booking
- Availability
- Beta
Use Related offers to suggest another experience or purchase after customers enter their primary booking details. For example, recommend a public guided tour after a customer selects an admission ticket.
You can recommend a specific event, an event template, an admission, a voucher, or a product. Customers choose whether to add an offer; recommendations do not reserve capacity.
Configure recommendations
You need permission to update the event, event template, or admission you are configuring. Prepare the target offer's prices and online availability before recommending it.
- In Services, open the event, event template, or admission that should trigger the recommendations.
- Open Related offers.
- Choose an Offer type, then use Search offers by name or number to select a target.
- For a dated offer, choose its Date selection:
- Use the visit date shows eligible times on the customer's visit date, at or after their entry time. Customers do not select the date again.
- Let the customer choose a date opens the offer's normal booking flow.
- Use the Move up, Move down, or Remove buttons beside each recommendation to arrange them. Customers see recommendations in this order. You can configure up to 30 direct recommendations.
- Select Save related offers.
If the primary booking has no definite visit date, the customer uses the target's normal date selection. Products and voucher purchases do not acquire a visit-date requirement from the primary booking.
Template inheritance and product recommendations
An event includes recommendations from its event template. Recommendations inherited from a template appear separately; edit them on that template. A direct recommendation for the same target takes precedence over the inherited relationship.
Existing product recommendations configured through KORONA.studio tags remain available. Their configuration is shown separately and must be edited in KORONA.studio. See Sell merchandise and other products in the online shop.
What customers see
After completing their booking questions, customers see eligible add-ons. Simple products and fixed-value vouchers have an Add to cart button directly on the card. Once added, the card shows In cart and quantity controls that change the number in the cart. At a quantity of one, the minus button becomes a remove button that takes the add-on out of the cart. For a variable-value voucher, customers enter the voucher amount and quantity before adding it. The selected amount stays visible while they adjust the quantity. To choose a different amount, they remove that voucher and add it again.
Dated offers and offers with additional choices or questions open their usual purchase flow. Choose tickets opens ticket selection when a visit time is already selected; Choose offer opens the other selection flows. Required attendee information is collected there. Completing an add-on returns the customer to the original recommendations, which confirm that the add-on is in the cart. From there, they can add another offer or go to the cart.
Customers can select Back to recommended add-ons to leave an add-on flow, or Skip and go to cart to continue checkout. Once an add-on is in the cart, that button reads Go to cart. The primary booking stays in their cart while that cart remains valid. Opening an offer's selection flow alone does not add or reserve it.
Only offers available for the shop and compatible with the cart are recommended. If availability changes, customers can choose another offer or continue to the cart. If no recommendations remain, the shop continues to the cart automatically.
Maintain the setup
If an offer is no longer available, remove the relationship or update the target's publication, online sales, prices, and capacity settings. A published offer marked Hide from shop can be explicitly recommended here. It remains excluded from shop listings and search, while customers can open it through a direct link or the recommendation. Publication, online sales, prices, capacity, and checkout requirements still apply. An unpublished offer cannot be made available by adding a recommendation. See How sales channels and visibility work.
Buying a recommended voucher follows the voucher's normal purchase and delivery process. It does not redeem the voucher against the primary booking.
